As ROSTR emerges from our BETA period we're making some changes to how users can access on the platform.
First up... ROSTR will remain free to use for all existing users & there will be a free option for new users.
But... we are going to start introducing limits to how much you can use ROSTR if you aren't on a paid subscription.
Read on for more info...
Limits?
After we introduce limits, users on our free plans will be limited to viewing a certain number of profiles on the platform per calendar month. Profiles include:
Artist profiles
Company profiles
People profiles
We haven't yet decided what those limits will be but we intend to set them at a level where occasional users are able to continue to use ROSTR without too much interruption. More regular users will likely run into these limits fairly quickly.
What will happen if I hit my limits?
You'll get a warning about limits BEFORE you hit your limits for the month.
However, if you do hit your limit & try to view more profiles you'll see a notification explaining what's going on.
At that point, you have three options...
Wait till the following month
Upgrade to Pro
Curse our names & never come back
Things we're not planning to include in limits? (but which could change)
You'll still be able to view certain parts of ROSTR without contributing to your limit. These include:
The News+Moves feed
The Sidebar
The Company Directory
The Services Directory
Your settings etc
However, clicking on artists or companies from any of these will count against your limits.
Wait, when is this happening?
We haven't set a date yet but it'll be sometime in July 2021. We'll make sure to let you know ahead of time.
"This sucks"!
I know, we want to make ROSTR super accessible for people. But, in order for us to do that we need to grow as a business so we can invest more in the product.
For many folks, ROSTR free will be plenty & hopefully still the best resource around for finding out this information.
We're sleeping a little better at night about it knowing that:
a) We think ROSTR Pro is WAY better
b) We think ROSTR Pro is affordable & more than worth its subscription cost.
BUT... if it is not affordable for you please see some of the ways we hope to make it so with group & specific individual discounts.
