Following and Lists let you keep track of the artists, companies, and people that matter to you in ROSTR. You can follow individual profiles to save them in one place, or create custom lists to organize profiles by topic, project, or any criteria that makes sense for your workflow.
The Following page
The Following page is your personal hub for everything you've followed and every list you've created. You can access it from the sidebar by clicking "Following." The page is divided into two sections: Your Lists at the top, and Following below it. The Following section includes filter tabs — All, Artists, Companies, and People — so you can quickly narrow down what you're looking at.
Following a profile
You can follow any artist, company, or person profile in ROSTR. On any profile page, click the "+ Follow" button next to the profile name. The button will change to a green "Following" indicator, confirming the profile has been added to your Following list. To unfollow, simply click the button again.
Followed profiles appear on the Following page as cards, showing the profile image, name, and type (Artist, Company, or Person). You can click any card to go directly to that profile.
Creating a list
Lists let you group profiles together for easy reference. To create a new list, go to the Following page and click the "+ New List" card in the Your Lists section. You'll be asked to enter a name for your list and, optionally, a description. Click "Create List" to save it. The list image is generated automatically from the profiles you add.
Adding profiles to a list
You can add any profile to one or more lists directly from their profile page. Click the list icon next to the Follow button — it shows a number indicating how many lists the profile is currently in. A panel will open showing all your lists. Check the box next to any list to add the profile, or uncheck it to remove. You can also create a new list from the preview panel. Click "Done" when you're finished.

Viewing and managing a list
Click on any list card on the Following page to open it. Inside, you'll see the list name, the number of profiles, and all the profiles displayed as cards. To edit a list's name or description, click the "Edit" button in the top right corner of the list view. From the Edit panel, you can also delete a list entirely.
Sharing a list
Any list you create can be shared with other people. Open a list and you'll see a Share button next to Edit at the top. Click it and a panel opens on the right with three sharing options to choose from.
Sharing options
Every list starts as Not shared, meaning only you can see it. To share a list, pick one of the other two options:
Not shared. The default. The list is only visible to you, and no link exists.
Unlisted. Anyone with the link can view this list. It will not appear in search engines or be discoverable on ROSTR. Use this when you want to share a list with specific people but not publish it.
Public. Anyone with the link can view this list. It may also appear in search engine results and be featured on ROSTR (for example, on the Discover page).
You can switch between Unlisted and Public at any time. The link stays the same, so anyone you've already sent it to keeps access.
Choosing your handle
The first time you share a list, you'll be asked to pick a ROSTR @handle. Your handle becomes part of the URL for every list you share, so people can tell at a glance who curated it.
A few things to keep in mind:
Handles can use lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores (3 to 30 characters).
Each handle is unique across ROSTR. The picker will tell you in real time whether the one you've typed is Available.
Your handle can't be changed later, so pick one you're happy to keep. Most people use their name, their company name, or the name they go by professionally.
Once you confirm your handle, every list you share will live at a URL that looks like:
The list-name part is generated automatically from the title of your list. If you rename the list later, the URL updates to match.
Copying and sending the link
After you've confirmed your handle (or any time you re-open the share panel for a list that's already shared), you'll see the full URL in the panel with a Copy button next to it. Click it to copy the link to your clipboard, then paste it into a text, email, Slack message, or wherever you want to send it.
You don't need a ROSTR account to view a shared list, so the people you send the link to can open it right away.
What people can do with your shared list
When someone opens the link, they can:
View the list and click into any of the profiles on it.
Follow the list to keep track of it from their own Following page. They'll see your updates whenever you add or remove a profile.
Save a copy to create their own version of the list, which they can then edit independently of yours.
Report the list if they think the content is inappropriate.
You'll see how many people are following your list directly in the share panel.
