Radar is a feature that searches the web to find employees who have publicly identified themselves as employees of the company you're viewing.
Unlike on the main part of a profile, info on the Radar tab is NOT verified by the ROSTR team. It's essentially like we're doing a bunch of complicated Google searches for you.
Sometimes this works great, other times info will be missing, inaccurate or out-of-date.
š We highly recommend you double check info before acting on it.
FAQs
How do I find Radar?
Radar is a tab that shows up on Company profiles on the desktop web version of ROSTR only (mobile web and iOS may come later). When enabled you'll see a clickable tab called Radar. Note, Radar is not available for all companies and is not available at all on artist or people profiles.
Why is Radar unavailable on some profiles?
On some company profiles you'll see the Radar tab but it'll be greyed out and unavailable. There are two reasons for this:
We're rolling out Radar to just the most visited profiles at first. In the coming weeks and months we'll aim to roll it out to thousands of companies.
For some companies, we don't have the information to activate Radar OR when Radar searches, we're unable to find any information.
How does Radar work?
For most company profiles on ROSTR we also have a website URL (e.g. www.acme.com). Radar uses the domain from that URL (e.g. acme.com) to search the web for people who are publicly associated with that domain (email address, public LinkedIn info etc).
Radar is missing some info, has no info or has the wrong info
As explained above, Radar uses a domain to search the web. That means it's reliant on the information being a) on the web, and b) up-to-date / correct. Sometimes the internet is wrong (or incomplete) so sometimes Radar is too. We highly recommend double-checking info before acting on it.
Why do some Radar profiles return people from a different / parent company?
Radar is primarily searching for public email addresses. Some companies use their parent company domain for email - for example, many Sony labels use @sonymusic.com. When Radar identifies this it'll sometimes show employees from the parent company. This makes it harder to find the exact people you're looking for, so it's an element we hope to improve in the future.
How can I report an error?
If you'd like to report an error, please click the chat icon on the bottom right of your screen and send us a message.
I'm listed in Radar but do not want to be
Send us a message using the chat icon OR email [email protected] and we'll remove you asap.
I'm listed in Radar but my info is wrong or I want to update
At the moment we are unable to edit or update info in Radar. This is because Radar is searching the web. If you would prefer to be unlisted we can remove you though. Please get in touch via the chat icon or email [email protected].
I'm NOT currently listed but want to be
At the moment we cannot manually add people to Radar. As explained above Radar searches the web to find information and we can't currently add data manually.
